Pan-slapping contest between two men
In an undated video, which appears to be shot at a fair or a public event, two men can be seen taking turns to hit each other on the head with a pan as a small crowd watches them.
The participants are seen wearing metal knight helmets that protect their heads against any serious injury. The two competitors, both sitting on a high wood, continue to hit each other alternately until one of them falls to the ground and the winner raises his hands in a victory dance.

While pan-slapping is new to the block, face-slapping is a popular sport in Russia.
The rules are simple, you walk up to a table, stand across from your opponent and slap his face, then, if he so chooses to return the favour, you take a slap in the face. The two of you repeat this as many times as necessary until one bows out of the contest, either on your own accord or by being knocked out.
The sport, which is fairly new, debuted in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, as part of the annual Siberian Power Show, where videos of the event quickly went viral.
So, how does it exactly work?
First, two opponents line up facing one another.
Then, they start slapping. Each competitor takes turns hitting each other in the face until one either gives up or is disqualified — or in some cases, passes out.
It’s a challenge involving plenty of pain, but also some gain. In 2019, Vasiliy Kamotskiy emerged as the winner of the Male Slapping Championship this year. He took home 30,000 Russian Ruble – or $470 – as prize money.
It seems the sport of slapping has some way to go before it’s making the kind of money other professional sports stars make, but there is no doubt the popularity of the brutal sport is only growing.
