USAA, the San Antonio-based financial services and insurance company, has selected a new leader from within to oversee its property and casualty insurance division. Randy Temeer will be the division’s new president, a shift from being senior vice president and general manager of auto insurance, according to a news release.
Temeer started with USAA in 2017 but comes with 20 years of experience in the industry. He served as chief operating officer for Chubb’s International Accident and Health Division and led product management for personal lines for The Hartford company.
“He knows what it means to serve military families well and his passion for our mission, our members, and our employees is unmatched,” said CEO Wayne Peacock in the news release.
Temeer helped launch USAA’s Small Business Insurance and the SafePilot program, while also leading the acquisition of the pay-as-you-drive insurance company Noblr.
Now Temeer is leading the largest division within USAA, the San Antonio Business Journal reports, having nearly 15,000 employees in the department with $1.2 billion in distributions to its members.
“Whether it’s the devastation of a hurricane or an unprecedented pandemic, this team has shown resilience and commitment to our noble mission,” Temeer said in the news release. “There is no team in the world that is comparable to the USAA team, and I am thrilled to lead this team into our second century of service.”
